The Simulation-Based Communication Training Has Been Organized for Pediatric Nurses

Our faculty members, Prof. Dr. Naime ALTAY and Prof. Dr. Ebru KILIÇARSLAN, from the Department of Child Health and Disease Nursing, organized a training on "Communication with Children and Families Based on Simulation" for pediatric nurses in cooperation with Private Ankara Güven Hospital on September 14-17, 2024. The training was carried out by Prof. Dr. Naime ALTAY, Prof. Dr. Ebru KILIÇARSLAN, Res. Asst. Rukiye ÇELİK and Res. Asst. Mukaddes BAŞKAYA.

The trainings held in our faculty's Pediatric Nursing Simulation Laboratory lasted 4 days and a total of 47 nurses in 16 groups participated in the training. Scenarios created based on the communication experiences of nurses with children and parents whom they frequently encounter in their working lives were used in the trainings. 3 simulation-based applications were made with each group in the training and then debriefing interviews were held. At the end of the training, nurses expressed that their awareness increased, the trainings contributed and would be very useful in the clinical work environment and that they were satisfied.
