1st International Oncology Nursing Association Congress was held.

The “4th International Oncology Nursing Association Congress” was held by the Oncology Nursing Association and Gazi University Faculty of Nursing, hosted by Gazi University, between May 21-23, 2025, at the Technology Faculty Tashkent Building Congress Hall.

The opening ceremony of the congress was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Tezer, Congress President Faculty of Nursing Dean Prof. Dr. Sultan Ayaz Alkaya, Congress President Oncology Nursing Association President Prof. Dr. Perihan Güner, academic staff, undergraduate/graduate nursing students and nurses.

In the opening speech of the congress, which was organized with the main theme of “35-Year Legacy in Oncology Nursing from the Past to the Future”, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Tezer emphasized the importance of oncology nurses in cancer prevention, early diagnosis and cancer care, and expressed his pleasure that the congress was being hosted by our University.

Congress President Faculty of Nursing Dean Prof. Dr. Sultan Ayaz Alkaya emphasized that oncology nurses have strong roles in cancer awareness, cancer prevention and early diagnosis, and cancer screening programs.

President of the Congress, Oncology Nursing Association President Prof. Dr. Perihan Güner, stated the importance of oncology nursing by saying, “It is not only technology that has changed in 35 years, but also the lives we touch and our belief in the future” and “We have been strengthened with science, we have moved forward together”.

5 courses, 15 panels were organized and 90 oral presentations and 42 poster presentations were made at the congress, which was held with approximately 300 participants from various countries and different cities of Turkey. The congress was successfully concluded with the reading of the final report and the presentation of the report awards.
