'If the word is silver, silence is gold' by Zilan TEKE, Gül GÜNGÖR, Behişt SERDAROVA, Şahnoza SABUROVA, 2nd year students of the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, under the leadership of Dr. Nurcan DÜZGÜN from Gazi University Faculty of Nursing, Department of Mental Health and Diseases Nursing. Within the scope of the Social Responsibility Project, "Effective Listening Training for Secondary School Students" was held on 09.05.2024 at the Türkiye Noterler Birliği Secondary School.

Within the scope of the event, the focus was on raising awareness about effective listening in middle school students, emphasizing the difference between listening and hearing, initiating behavioral change, and thus making students more successful in their lessons. At the same time, the subject of communication with children/adolescents was reinforced by the theme of 'Inclusive and Qualified Education' within the scope of the 'Self-Knowledge and Communication Methods' course taken by 2nd-year students of Gazi University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing.

Within the scope of Effective Listening Training, information was given on "effective listening, the differences between listening and hearing, types of listening, the benefits of effective listening, effective listening techniques, and questions from students were answered. An educational video on effective listening was shown to attract the attention of middle school students, and an ear-to-ear game emphasizing effective listening was played. Secondary school students listened to the training with interest. The event ended with the distribution of brochures prepared for informational purposes.
