The 4th International and the 5th National Congress on Public Health Nursing has taken place.

The "4th International and 5th National Public Health Nursing Congress", hosted by Gazi University and organized by the Public Health Nursing Association, was held between April 16-18, 2025, at Mimar Kemaleddin Hall.


The opening ceremony of the congress was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Tezer, Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Selami Candan, Congress Chair and Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Prof. Dr. Sultan Ayaz Alkaya, Dean of Gazi Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Bilal Güneş, Dean of the Faculty of Technology Prof. Dr. Musa Atar, Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Cicioğlu, Director of the Institute of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Saniye Bilici, Dean of University College Dublin-UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems (Ireland) Prof. Fiona Timmins, along with vice deans, deputy directors, and faculty members.


Held under the main theme “The Power of Public Health Nursing in a Digitalized World: Innovative and Sustainable Approaches for Global Health,” the opening speech was delivered by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Tezer, who emphasized that digitalization is now an integral component of health services. He underlined the importance of public health nursing in protecting community health in today's increasingly complex global health landscape and expressed his pleasure that the congress was being hosted by Gazi University.


Congress Chair Prof. Dr. Sultan Ayaz Alkaya, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, stated that in today's digital world, public health nursing has become a powerful tool that enhances the accessibility, efficiency, and effectiveness of health services. She emphasized that public health nurses, equipped with digital skills and technologies, play a crucial role in achieving global health goals by protecting and promoting community health.


With over 300 participants from various countries and cities across Turkey, the congress featured 2 workshops, 5 conferences, and 5 panels. A total of 33 academicians contributed as speakers and session chairs. The congress hosted 19 oral presentation sessions, during which 197 oral presentations and 104 e-poster presentations were shared. The event concluded successfully with the reading of the final declaration and the presentation of awards for outstanding papers.
