The Department of Surgical Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing organized an event entitled “Your Voice Is Your Most Valuable Instrument: Voice Use and Voice Health Protection” to raise awareness among faculty members and academic staff about proper voice use and the protection of vocal health. The event was held on June 19, 2026, in the Faculty of Nursing Conference Hall and was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Nurcan Çalışkan, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Canbolat and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehtap Uzun Aksoy, as well as faculty members and academic staff.

Moderated by Prof. Dr. Mevlüde Karadağ, the event featured Dr. Özlem Beşik Topçu, Lecturer and Director of the Language and Speech Research and Application Center at Yüksek İhtisas University, as the guest speaker. Dr. Beşik Topçu shared her knowledge and experience regarding the protection of vocal health, proper and effective voice use, and voice-related problems frequently encountered by academics in their professional lives. The program also included practical voice-use exercises, and participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert guidance.

The event concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation and a tree-planting donation certificate to Dr. Özlem Beşik Topçu in recognition of her valuable contributions.
