Our University’s Faculty of Nursing organized a Nursing Week Celebration Program. The program, held at the Rectorate Mimar Kemaleddin Hall, was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Tezer, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Prof. Dr. Nurcan Çalışkan, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Canbolat and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehtap Uzun Aksoy, faculty member of Hacettepe University Prof. Dr. Gülten Koç, Vice Director of the Institute of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Naime Altay, academic staff members, and students.

The program began with a musical performance by the academic staff of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Turkish Music State Conservatory and continued with the opening speech delivered by the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Nurcan Çalışkan. Emphasizing the vital importance of nursing and the value of care in the delivery of healthcare services, Prof. Dr. Nurcan Çalışkan concluded her remarks by highlighting the International Council of Nurses’ 2026 Nurses Day theme: “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” In his opening speech, the Vice Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Tezer, expressed the significance of the nursing profession in both clinical and community health fields and concluded by celebrating Nursing Week with the participants. Following the opening speeches, the program continued with a presentation titled “Power, Care, Future: The Transformative Power of Nursing” by Prof. Dr. Gülten Koç. In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Gülten Koç emphasized the importance of nurses within the healthcare system, the impact of empowering nurses on patient and public health, and highlighted various empowerment strategies. The program concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Gülten Koç by Prof. Dr. Nurcan Çalışkan.
