An awareness event on inflammatory bowel diseases was organized at the hospital on May 13, 2026 in collaboration with the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing of our Faculty and the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Outpatient Clinic of the Gazi University Health Research and Application Center (Gazi Hospital) Gastroenterology Department. The event aimed to raise awareness about inflammatory bowel diseases, which are
increasingly common in society, to educate patients about disease management, and to highlight patient education. During the event, held in the hospital, participants received information on the symptoms of the disease, the treatment process, nutritional recommendations, medication adherence, and ways to improve quality of life. Fourth-year students from the Gazi University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nursing also actively participated in the event. The students contributed to the educational process by guiding participants with informative materials they prepared for patient education. The prepared educational materials were examined with interest by the participants. Positive feedback was received from the participants at the end of the event.
