The “Nursing Student Festival,” organized by the Faculty of Nursing at Gazi University as part of “Nursing Week (May 12–18),” was held on May 13, 2026, with the participation of Faculty of Nursing Dean Prof. Dr. Nurcan ÇALIŞKAN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem CANBOLAT, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehtap UZUN AKSOY, faculty members, and students.
The event commenced with the opening speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Nurcan ÇALIŞKAN, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing. Throughout the event, various booths and activities were organized to enhance nursing students’ professional awareness, support social interaction, and increase the visibility of student communities and their work.
As part of the event, booths were set up by the Child Health and Diseases Course, the Nursing and Handicrafts Course, the Peer and Mentoring Committee, the Mental Health and Communication Club, the Nursing Students Club, the Lifelong Awareness Club, the Reproductive Health Club, and the Women’s Empowerment
Club.
The booths featured: “Awareness of Childhood Diseases and Organ and Blood Donation,” “Educational Materials Exhibition,” “Best Mentor-Mentee Competition,” “Listening Box,” “Tabu, Mandala, and Leave a Message for Nurses,” “Do a Good Deed Game,” “Break Down Taboos,” and “Discover Your Own Strength Through Games.”
Additionally, Specialist Nurse Nefise Cumalı Özdemir, the Tissue and Organ Transplantation Coordinator at the Tissue and Organ Transplantation Center of Hacettepe University Adult Hospital, provided information on organ donation and answered participants’ questions.
The program concluded with social activities and a musical performance held with the enthusiastic participation of students.
