The 2025-2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony and Academic General Assembly organized by our Faculty was held on November 3, 2025 at the Rectorate Mimar Kemaleddin Hall. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur ÜNAL, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Necdet HAYTA, Prof. Dr. Hasan TEZER, Prof. Dr. Serhat KARYEYEN, Advisor to the Rector Prof. Dr. Selami CANDAN, Secretary General Mustafa AFŞAR, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Prof. Dr. Sultan AYAZ ALKAYA, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem CANBOLAT, Assist. Prof. Nevra KALKAN, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim CİCİOĞLU, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Fatih AKKURT, Deputy Director of the Institute of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Naime ALTAY, vice deans, academic and administrative staff of the Faculty of Nursing, and students attended the program.

In her opening remarks, our faculty's Dean, Prof. Dr. Sultan AYAZ ALKAYA, highlighted our faculty's recent academic and scientific achievements, emphasizing our position as one of the most successful nursing faculties. Dean Prof. Dr. Sultan AYAZ ALKAYA expressed his gratitude to the entire university administration, especially our Rector, Prof. Dr. Uğur ÜNAL, for their significant contributions to our faculty's success. He expressed his hope that the 2025-2026 academic year will be auspicious and auspicious for our university.
In his opening remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur ÜNAL stated that nursing is one of our distinguished professions, embracing continuous learning and contributing to society. Reminding us that our university, with its deep-rooted history, will celebrate its centennial next year, Prof. Dr. Uğur ÜNAL stated that the Faculty of Nursing has achieved great success despite its young age and thanked the faculty and staff on behalf of the university. Rector concluded his remarks by congratulating the students and their families for their great efforts in achieving this level.
Following the opening remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur ÜNAL presented a certificate of achievement to Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Sultan AYAZ ALKAYA, who was among the scientists representing Gazi University on Stanford University's "World's Most Influential Scientists" list, both on the "Annual Impact" and "Careerlong Impact" lists.
According to the 2024 APSİS evaluation results, our faculty members were presented with certificates of achievement to our Dean, Prof. Dr. Sultan AYAZ ALKAYA, who ranked first among faculty members in academic performance, Prof. Dr. Nurcan ÇALIŞKAN, who ranked second, and Prof. Dr. Şengül YAMAN SÖZBİR, who ranked third. Certificates of achievement were presented to our Dean, Prof. Dr. Sultan AYAZ ALKAYA, who ranked first in publications in the Q1-Q2 quarter between November-December 2024 and January-October 2025, Prof. Dr. Nurcan ÇALIŞKAN, who ranked second, and Prof. Dr. Naile BİLGİLİ, who ranked third. At the ceremony, a certificate of achievement was also presented to Prof. Dr. Ülkü POLAT, who successfully qualified for support in the TÜBİTAK 1002-A project.
Following the presentation of the certificates of achievement, faculty members who achieved academic progress were presented with certificates of achievement to Prof. Dr. The robe-wearing ceremony for Azize KARAHAN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem CANBOLAT, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Handan TERZİ was held. The ceremony concluded with a presentation by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Sultan AYAZ ALKAYA, to the academic general assembly.
